We will also recognize the anglers who entered the largest weight by pounds per state (MD, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL East, FL West, AL, MS, LA, & TX). If any rules of the contest, laws of the participating State, or anything illegal or immoral is done the individual will be removed from the program and banned from any future contest.
  2. All Federal, State, and Local laws shall be obeyed at all times. All participants will be entered in the same division. In this case, Heaviest Speckled Trout stringer by weight. There will be no separation between guides or novice fishermen. Speckled Truth, LLC has the right to reject or refuse entry to anyone for any reason without cause, at its sole discretion. Any angler that has been caught cheating in any tournament or competition or is banned from any tournament, is not allowed to enter this program.
  3. Contestants must have a valid fishing license if required by law meaning minors may be exempt, which may vary by state.  All contestants are encouraged to wear safety devices and practice safe boating when in a boat and the utmost sportsmanship, courtesy, and ethics.
  4. All fish must be caught by rod and reel using ONLY artificial lures.
  5. Only paid members of the Heavy Hitters program can participate in the 12 month program. Fee of $100.00 enters one individual into the program. Youth participants can enter the program for no charge. Youth is defined as any person (17 & under).
  6. This is a friendly program, which encourages anglers to catch their 10 largest trout over the course of 12 months. As a result, no cash will be awarded to program participants based on tournament results. Instead, at the end of the calendar year there will be prizes and recognition for the top 3 members entering the heaviest total weight. In addition, we will also recognize the top 3 anglers with the heaviest weight for each state.
  7. For the Heavy Hitters program, no trout will be kept by the angler. We want to encourage safe release for future generations, so we will accept only videos that have the special object of the program included in the video, or that say the designated code phrase.  Rules for submission will be specified. After video is taken of the fish with the weight locked in, the same video must show safe release for proper submission.
  8. Others can assist with videoing your catch and we encourage that for safekeeping and safe release.
  9. Anglers can only submit a fish into the program that THEY caught. Cannot use another person's fish to submit into the program.
  10. There is no Port of Origin rule. All fish must be entered into the state waters where they were caught. (Chandeleur Islands fish will count towards Louisana Heavy Stringer, etc.)
